Equipment
The rates quoted include insurance (see notes) and gas supplies. All caravans are equipped with a fire extinguisher, step, water containers, number plate, spare wheel and jack.

A 12 volt battery is provided to run the water pump and interior lights. Please note that kitchen utensils etc are not provided. All our caravans are serviced regularly and valeted to the highest standards.


Insurance
Most car insurance covers towing but it is essential to check that the policy does not exclude this. Our rates include insurance on the caravan, with the customer being responsible for £150 excess in the event of any accidental damage. However, the excess can be waived for an extra premium of £6 per week.

You should make sure that your personal effects are covered by your domestic insurance policy. An extra premium of £20 per week is payable if you wish to tour abroad. We regret that we are unable to insure persons under the age of 25.


Booking
When making your booking, first contact us to ensure that your choice of van is available. We will then
reserve that unit for 4 days pending receipt of your completed booking form and deposit of £50 per week (not
refundable in the event of cancellation). Any phone booking not confirmed within 4 days will be considered to
have lapsed.

The balance of the hire charge is due not later than 4 weeks before commencement of the hire. If your
booking is made within 4 weeks of the collection then the full amount should be remitted with the booking
form.

Pets
We do not object to one small dog provided it is well behaved. Customers should note however that damage
caused by pets is not covered by our insurance.

Towing
The Caravan Club recommend that the total weight of a caravan should not exceed 85% of the kerbside weight of the towcar. This means that a caravan and contents weighing 17 cwt would require a car of at least 20 cwt to tow it.

We have included in the specification suggestions for minimum requirements for a towcar, however, this is only intended as a general guide, and if you should need advice on the suitability of your car please contact us.

We reserve the right to decline a booking if we consider the towcar to be unsuitable. First time caravaners will find our leaflet 'Tips on Touring' helpful - it is full of useful tips on towing and using the van and is available free to all hirers.
